Polyaspartic
Polyaspartic coatings: one day, no yellowing.
A fast-curing, UV-stable topcoat that installs in a day and outlasts standard epoxy in the desert sun.
Why we top our floors with polyaspartic
Polyaspartic is a tougher, more flexible cousin of epoxy. It cures fast, resists abrasion and chemicals, and, crucially for the desert, it is UV-stable so it will not yellow outdoors or in sun-lit garages. We use it as the topcoat over our flake and metallic systems.
Polyaspartic vs epoxy
- Cures in hours, not days (most floors done in one day)
- UV-stable: no yellowing in sun
- More scratch and chemical resistant
- Works in a wider temperature range
The best of both
A pure epoxy floor is great indoors but can chalk and yellow in sun. We pair a strong base with a polyaspartic topcoat so you get adhesion plus a finish that lasts.
Frequently asked
Is polyaspartic better than epoxy?
For our climate, yes as a topcoat. It cures faster, resists UV, and is tougher. We typically build a system with a base coat plus a polyaspartic topcoat.
Can it really be done in one day?
Most residential floors, yes. Fast cure times let us grind, coat, and seal in a single day.
